Aurora Astro Procedure Light Details

Advanced Maneuverability and Precision

The Aurora Astro incorporates the same elite engineering found in Skytron’s flagship surgical lighting systems, delivering unmatched depth perception and shadow mitigation. Designed for fluid movement, the lighthead offers 360° rotation across all axes and a 355° pitch, ensuring seamless positioning in high-stakes environments ranging from trauma centers to labor and delivery suites.

  • 360° rotation on all primary axes
  • 355° lighthead pitch for flexible angling
  • Optimized for ER, Trauma, and Outpatient settings

Vertically Segmented Reflector Technology

Unlike standard procedure lights, the Aurora Astro utilizes Vertically Segmented Reflector Design (VSRD) to produce surgical-grade illumination. By directing high-intensity LEDs upward into 61 distinct facets, the system captures 99% of light energy. The resulting 1,281 overlapping rays converge to form a sharp, uniform beam that eliminates shadows and enhances visual contours.

  • 61 individual facets per lighthead
  • 1,281 overlapping light rays for shadow reduction
  • 99% light capture efficiency for maximum intensity

High-Fidelity Color Rendering

Accurate clinical assessment relies on precise color representation. The Aurora Astro provides exceptional CRI and R9 values, ensuring that surgeons and nurses see true-to-life tissue colors and anatomical structures without distortion. This consistency allows for confident tissue identification during complex procedures.

  • High CRI and R9 ratings for natural color rendition
  • Precision lighting for accurate tissue differentiation
  • Flawless color delivery across all intensity levels

Intuitive Intensity Management

Lighting adjustments are streamlined to maintain the sterile field. Clinicians can modify brightness via the sterile center handle or the non-sterile yoke control, selecting from four distinct intensity stages to match the requirements of the procedure.

  • Four selectable brightness settings
  • Sterile center handle control
  • Redundant non-sterile yoke control

Versatile Clinical Applications

Engineered to fit diverse facility layouts, the Aurora Astro is available in single or dual head arrays and integrates fully with Skytron boom systems. This adaptability makes it an ideal choice for a wide spectrum of medical environments including ICUs, C-section suites, and outpatient surgery centers.

  • Single or dual lighthead mounting options
  • Full compatibility with Skytron boom mounting
  • Recommended for ICUs, Procedure Rooms, and Trauma Centers
